My Poetry Slam!

 Bula Vinaka Bloggers!

Sorry I haven't been posting I have just been a little bit of track but yes let's move on to the REAL topic.

So Today I have a Haiku Poetry thing. Haiku's are usually about nature and there has to be three lines, the first line has to have 5 syllables the second line is 7 syllables and the 3 is the same as the first, 5 syllables. My Haiku was about Summer and how to safe. I hope you like it also if you wanna enter the poetry slam there is a link on the summer learning journey it's on the exact activity I linked or you could you just go to the summer learning journey page and go to poetry slam and just to it yourself but I don't wanna make it long for you ;)

Enjoy my Haiku and have a nice day!

Also Thanks to Phil for showing a good Video on how to embed the video from screencastify :)

  1. Ka pai Karolina. What an important message you've shared with your readers. I can imagine your poem appearing on a TV or radio advert about being sun-smart. I really enjoyed the way you read with such expression, ka pai! Did you try doing a tanka? Keep up the awesome mahi.

  3. Kia ora Karolina,

This is an awesome and creative poem! Well done creating a Haiku using the 5-7-5 syllable structure. I know how tricky it can be to find words to fit perfectly in the number of syllables, so this is very impressive!

Have you written poetry before these activities? I enjoy writing poetry, I think it's a really creative and emotive way of writing about things.

Great work using Screencastify to record your poem, you spoke very clearly and with a lot of expression! I like how you emphasized some of the words, it was certainly a great summer reminder to wear sunscreen!

I hope you keep writing these fabulous poems, keep up the great work.

    Ngā mihi,
    Lauren

    2. Kia ora anō Karolina,

You're welcome for the feedback! That sounds like an awesome poem/haiku about the cold winter. Perhaps you could write one every season, thinking about the weather and special things you do each season. Then you could bring them all together at the end of the year and have four special poems about the year!

I'm looking forward to seeing your next blog posts.

      Ngā mihi,
      Lauren

  4. Kia ora Karolina. I just listened to your haiku early in the morning and the sunscreen message was a great one to get at that time. I think that poems are often best when read by the author to the audience and your one was no exception. It was cool. I really want to have a listen to your other slams as the SLJ goes on.
