Bula Vinaka Bloggers!
Today I will show you my Tanka! So If you were wondering what a Tanka is it's basically just like a haiku but with an extra 7 syllables it would go like this
5
7
5
7
7
(The numbers show how many syllables would be in each line)
If YOU did a Tanka either link the blog post in the comments or just tell me your blog or you just say "yeah I did one you can look it if you want too"
I hope you like my Tanka and also it's called "My Summer Tanka"
Kia ora Karolina,
ReplyDeleteIt’s Charlotte here, a blog commenter for Manaiakalani. Nice work on completing the ‘Poetry Slam, Step it up’ activity!
I noticed that you shared the rules of a Tanka poem with your blog readers - I think this was a great idea, I’m sure some of your blog readers will learn a lot about how to write a Tanka poem from reading your post.
You have included a very important message in your Tanka poem - it is so important for us to stay safe in the sun, especially since it is so hot at the moment! My favourite hat is green and I make sure to take it everywhere, do you have a favourite hat?

Bula Vinaka Charlotte!
DeleteI shared the rules just in case anyone wanted to try doing a tanka. I do have a favourite hat, it's a hat that's blue with some light blue and white flowers it's kind of new I love taking it outside!
Ka pai Karolina. I like the way your tanka follows on from your haiku. Did you check the number of syllables in your final line? If you want to see some other poetry slam entries you can check them out here.
ReplyDeleteBula Vinaka Phil!
DeleteThe last line was just something random that I had to say it's not really apart of the tanka
